Title or Location: study of a Indian this is the third in a study of 3.
I had made a quick study of an Indian with watercolor, and just threw it in the trash when I was done with it. My wife saw it and took it out of the trash and had it framed, without me knowing. I then thought to explore this Indian study further and did two more studies of this Indian. I just decided to post the third study on the Phoenix Art CircleFacebook page and to my surprise, was asked to submit the study.A little info about me:I graduated from ASU with a BFA in Art History in 1977, at

Title or Location: Lady Quail Pose
Captured a photo of this beauty strolling along a ledge early in the morning while I enjoyed my coffee enjoying the views of the beautiful Sonoran Desert. She stood there posing for me with such confidence. I was so intrigued by her look that I had to create a watercolor painting of her. Watercolor on 9x12 Arches.

This was my first attempt at scraperboard and I was trying to create a picture with dramatic lighting that would make the most of the medium. As it turned out, a lot of the board was left black and untouched to represent the shadows, so it was easier than I thought!

Title or Location: Inis Meain
We visited Inis Meain off the west coast of Ireland in 2017 and this cow was just down the road from the hotel where we were staying, so I just had to paint it! This image was painted with Acrylic inks on illustration board.
